Ranking Requirements
Colorado Rankings move to Points Per Round
Beginning in 2008, all Senior, NTRP, Championship, Family events, and Junior
Satellite tournaments will be utilizing a Points Per Round (PPR) system to
determine Colorado rankings (Junior Championship made the switch to PPR in
2007).
PPR is very simple process. Players earn points for each win, plus earn bonus
points for wins over “Top 20” players. Sanctioned events are broken down to
Designated/Level 1 and non-Designated/Level 2 tournaments.
Level 1 tournaments carry more points than Level 2 events.
Ranking Requirements
NTRP Singles/Doubles Requirements
Players accumulating a minimum of 250 points during the calendar year will earn
a year-end ranking. Only a player’s three best results in Colorado sanctioned
tournaments will count towards a ranking. If you have more than three
tournaments on your record, the ranking program automatically drops out the
lower scores (points) and keeps your best three tournament results.
Senior Division (30-80), Family Requirements
Players accumulating a minimum of 100 points during the calendar year will earn
year-end rankings. Only a player’s two best results in Colorado sanctioned
tournaments will count towards a ranking. If you have more than two tournaments
on your record, the ranking program automatically drops out the lower scores
(points) and keeps your best two tournament results.
Championship Requirements
Players accumulating a minimum of 200 points during the calendar year will earn
year-end rankings. Only a player’s two best results in Colorado sanctioned
tournaments will count towards a ranking. If you have more than two tournaments
on your record, the ranking program automatically drops out the lower scores
(points) and keeps your best two tournament results.
Junior Satellite Requirements
Players accumulating a minimum of 150 points
during the calendar year will earn a year-end ranking. Only a player's 3 (three)
best results* at Colorado sanctioned events will count towards a ranking.

Junior Championship Requirements
Players accumulating a minimum of 200 points during the calendar year will earn
a year-end ranking. Only a player's 5 (five) best results* at Colorado
sanctioned events will count towards a ranking. Unlike the standing lists,
year-end rankings points will not count down to the lower age division.

*Only a player's top _X_ results (number depends on division) will count toward
Colorado ranking/standings. If a player has more tournaments on his/her record,
the ranking program automatically drops the lower scores and keeps the best
results. Rankings/standings points include PPR from the tables PLUS any Bonus
Points earned at the tournament. These Bonus Points are attached to the event in
which they are earned. If a tournament is not among the player’s best events,
neither the PPR nor the bonus points for that event will count toward the
player’s total.
Tie-Break Rules (If a player has the same point total of another player(s) the
following tie-break rules will apply:
|
1. |
A player whose best event has the highest number of points, second best, third
best etc. through two or three events depending on your division. |
|
2. |
Total bonus points earned in all events. |
